Sonics Ballpark was the site for USPL Double A action featuring the Atlantic City Sonics and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Atlantic City Sonics, 11-1, at Sonics Ballpark. Mercer Island center fielder Asbel Kiprop was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Carlos Cardoso recorded the save for Mercer Island, his 3rd of the season.

With Mercer Island leading 7-1 in the top of the ninth, Kiprop hit a grand slam home run off Atlantic City hurler Boyd Brennan. It was the 7th home run of the season for Kiprop and put his team ahead, 11-1.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kiprop told the Mercer Island Daily News.

Mercer Island is now 39-18, 3˝ games up in the Premier AA.
