The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks got a sterling performance from pitcher Jeff Wright, but the Continentals still prevailed, 3-1. Wright was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Chesapeake reliever Ramiro Valdés got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ralph Owens was tagged with the loss. The Continentals now have a mark of 24-33.

Had Tae-wan Kim not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Kim hit a solo home run. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Continentals.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Kim said.
