Sonics Come Back Late to Clip Screaming Eagles

It was a good time at Sonics Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Atlantic City Sonics get after it.
The Atlantic City Sonics topped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-3, in USPL Double A action at Sonics Ballpark. The player of the game was Atlantic City pitcher and Queens, New York native Jimmy Pineda. Atlantic City reliever Jon King picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Théo Picard shouldered the loss.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Ricardo Yates came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Mercer Island pitcher Bing-zhong Qiu, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run triple. It was a game-changer, putting Atlantic City on top, 5-3.
"Jimmy is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Atlantic City manager Juan López.
Atlantic City is now 32-24, Mercer Island 38-18.
