Screaming Eagles Win at Atlantic City, 3-1
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got a good effort from starter Adrik Mihalushkin in defeating the Atlantic City Sonics at Sonics Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. Mihalushkin, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Wilson Rangel sewed up the save, his 7th.
It could have been a different outcome for Mercer Island, had it not been for Charles Basle, the 27-year old right fielder . Basle contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Mercer Island up, 2-1.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Atlantic City manager Juan López. "Obviously."
Mercer Island has now won 4 in a row.
