Thunder Hawks Score Late, Upend Sixshooters, 5-4

The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium. Nobody did more than third baseman Miguel Pacheco, who captured player of the game honors. Ft. Polk South reliever Ralph Owens was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Felipe Deleón. The save was credited to Job Janssen, his 6th.
Ft. Polk South used the timely hitting of Martin Fish to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder Hawks on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good up there," said Pacheco. "I saw the ball well."
Westwood has now lost 4 straight.
