Evergreens Win at Boston, 4-1

Portland and Boston duked it out at Dunkin Donuts Park and the Evergreens came out victorious.
Portland starter Eric Matson pitched effectively against the Boston Patriots at Dunkin Donuts Park. The right-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Branlyn Jaraba, credited with the save, is now 5 for 5 in save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Blaze Alexander, the 26-year old first baseman . Alexander contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Portland up, 2-1.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
The second-place Evergreens are now 59-40, the Patriots 47-52.
