Sixshooters Topple Continentals with Late Rally
|
The Westwood Sixshooters eked out a 3-2 win versus the Chesapeake Continentals at Chesapeake Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher José Castillo, who captured player of the game honors. Westwood reliever Rodrigo Delvalle picked up the win to move to 3-1. Shaun Stroud suffered the loss. The save was credited to José Díaz, his 8th.
Westwood used the clutch hitting of Leilani Aberahama to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sixshooters ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Castillo told the Westwood Chronicle.
The Sixshooters raised their record to 20-27.
