Both teams had their chances, but the Minnesota Loons eventually prevailed at Mercer Island Grounds.

Mercer Island center fielder Mikael Evangjeli had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Minnesota at Mercer Island Grounds. Evangjeli went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Minnesota reliever Ángel Herrera got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Diego Cartaya was tagged with the loss. Tekoa Kinsinger sewed up the save, his 4th.

Minnesota used the timely hitting of Sehinsah Al-Fanari to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Loons ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I felt good up there," said Al-Fanari. "I saw the ball well."

The Loons, at 27-19, have now won 5 straight.
