Pak Goes Off, But Thunder Hawks Win
|
Virginia got a terrific game from third baseman Seung-hwan Pak. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ft. Polk South, 6-4. Pak was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ft. Polk South reliever Seung-jae Hwang picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Tony Torres was saddled with the loss. Job Janssen was credited with the save for Ft. Polk South, his 5th of the season.
Anastasio Flores, the Ft. Polk South left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 5-4, Thunder Hawks. For the game, Flores was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Flores said.
The 8th-place Palladium Sox have dropped 4 straight games.
