Loons Score Late, Upend Hops, 5-2

The Minnesota Loons got a stellar effort from pitcher Maik van Osch, helping Minnesota score a 5-2 win over the visiting Yakima Hops. van Osch, now 3-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Loons bumped their record to 21-17 with this latest triumph.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Yakima hurler Bert Hollingsworth, Milojica Kordic, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in triples with 2, drew a walk. The Loons went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kordic. "And not try to do too much."
