Franke Shines in Hops Win
The Yakima Hops beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 8-5, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Yakima second baseman Sebastian Franke earned player of the game honors. He collected 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Mark Garrett got the win, improving to 2-3. He held the Thunder Hawks to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 4. Steve Barnett earned the save, his 3rd, for the Hops.

With Yakima leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Franke hit a curveball from Craig Gunter for a run-scoring single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Hops ahead, 2-0.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Franke told the Yakima Times.

With the win over Ft. Polk South, the Hops improved to 12-17.
