Palladium Sox Need Extra Frames to Get Past Loons
|
The Virginia Palladium Sox bested the Minnesota Loons, 11-8, at Loony Bin. Jesús Amengual was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Virginia reliever Joel Plowden picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ricardo Ramírez absorbed the loss. Doug Lane earned the save, his 2nd.
Virginia relied on the bat of Seung-hwan Pak to get the win. The first baseman produced a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put the Palladium Sox ahead, 8-7. For the game, Pak had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Amengual.
At 8-14, the Palladium Sox find themselves in 8th place in the Premier AA.
