Raimo Kangas never let Yakima get something going. The Mercer Island right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Screaming Eagles to a 3-0 win. Picking up the save was Jelexiz Verano, his 1st. Mercer Island, at 15-7, sits in second place in the Premier AA.

Kangas, who dominated for Mercer Island, earned the victory to move to 4-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 8. Yakima batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Kangas.
