The San Bernardino Grasshoppers picked up a win at Field of the Grasshoppers, knocking off the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-2. On the mound for San Bernardino was right-hander David Flowers, who played a pivotal role in the win. Flowers got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Flowers allowed 1 earned run. San Bernardino is 9-12 and Mercer Island, with the loss, 14-7.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Pancho Espinoza was at the plate when San Bernardino scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Grasshoppers to go in front, 2-1.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said San Bernardino manager Jared Gilbert.
