The Yakima Hops did just enough to sneak past the Chesapeake Continentals, 3-2, at Hops Park. Yakima pitcher Nicholas Finn earned player of the game honors. The win was Aad Stuut's in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Tom Lee took the loss for Chesapeake. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Yakima.

The Hops were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when left fielder Jim McMahon turned a 2-2 curveball from Tom Lee into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Yakima a thrilling 3-2 win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McMahon. "And not try to do too much."
