The Idaho Falls Chukars eked out a 5-4 win versus the Put-In-Bay BC at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Nobody did more than third baseman Josh Wiggins, who captured player of the game honors. Zuo-lin Liang earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 4 earned runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The BC, at 12-10, have lost 5 in a row.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Chukars sent teenager Poom Saksansin to the plate against BC hurler Jeremy Brody. With a runner on 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a first pitch fastball to score 1.
Saksansin told a Idaho Falls Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
