Dragoons Shut Out Torch
|
The Louisiana Dragoons topped the Mancelona Torch, 8-0, with youngster Yeow-whye Zhu playing a key role. Zhu went 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Dragoons in the win. Danny Stam got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings. Louisiana, now 12-10, holds 7th place in the Menard's A.
Ron Carlisle, who is tied for 10th in the 3A in extra base hits with 9, chipped in for Louisiana with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Louisiana skipper Santiago Vargas.
