Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Thunder Hawks
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks sent the home crowd home smiling from Thunder Hawks Ballpark.

San Bernardino center fielder José Soriano had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Soriano went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, even as Ft. Polk South beat the Grasshoppers, 6-5. Soriano was named the player of the game despite the loss. Ft. Polk South reliever Seung-jae Hwang picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rainer Polonius shouldered the loss.

Late in the game, catcher Juho Hovinen had a big at-bat for Ft. Polk South. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Mark Morgan. The play gave the Thunder Hawks a 6-5 lead.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Ft. Polk South manager John Anderson.

Ft. Polk South is now 10-8.
