Thunder Hawks Clip Loons in Tight Contest
|
The Thunder Hawks grabbed a win, 4-3, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Ids Knegt. Knegt went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Ft. Polk South reliever António Morterero picked up the win to move to 1-0. Melchor Morse suffered the loss. With the win, Ft. Polk South pushes its record to 7-5.
Miguel Pacheco was the walk-off hero for Ft. Polk South. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder Hawks third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Pacheco called the triumph "a good team win."
