Screaming Eagles Get Close Win Over Palladium Sox
Mercer Island center fielder Asbel Kiprop made his presence felt in the 10-9 Screaming Eagles triumph over the Virginia Palladium Sox. Kiprop went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Mercer Island reliever Ryan Fry picked up the win to move to 2-0. Doug Lane suffered the loss. The hot start continues for the defending champion Screaming Eagles, who took their 8th win in 11 games this year.

With a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the ninth, Kiprop delivered the knockout blow when he hit a run-scoring single to win it for Mercer Island. In the contest, Kiprop was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Kiprop said.
