Dragoons Stymie Grand Forks, Take 3-0 Win
|
The Dragoons had to overcome a good performance from Grand Forks pitcher José Miranda to claim a 3-0 win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Miranda went 5 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Louisiana reliever Harry Golden picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. José Miranda absorbed the loss. The save was credited to Maverick McNealy, his 2nd.
The Dragoons got a big at-bat from catcher Abraham Ruenuitz. For the game, Ruenuitz went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Louisiana a 2-0 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Ruenuitz told the Louisiana Times.
Losses have been few and far between for the Caterpillars so far this season. Their record drops to 7-3.
