The Lancaster Farmers faced a tough opponent in Ithaca pitcher Greg Hoover, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Imps Park by a final score of 6-2. Hoover went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Hugh Scott, who threw 106 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. The Farmers saw their record improve to 41-54.
Lancaster used the timely hitting of Mfiondu Kabengele to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Farmers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Kabengele told the Lancaster Herald.
