Oaks Pitching Ravaged by Brown
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids stopped the Oakland Oaks by a score of 7-3 at Oakland Coliseum today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Jim Brown. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Brown said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Brown did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Oaks.
"Not much that I can say," offered Oakland manager DAshley GoAs. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Jim Brown hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Brown has batted at a .441 pace with 15 hits, 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 4 times.
