Shmerkin Lifts Farmers to 12-5 Triumph
The Lancaster Farmers defeated the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 12-5, at Farmers Field today. Leading the charge for Lancaster was left fielder Yaakov Shmerkin. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 4 times. Hugh Scott, credited with the win, is now 4-12. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits in 6 innings. Leevi Kangro closed the game out for Lancaster, earning his 1st save.

In the first inning, Shmerkin had a run-scoring double for Lancaster. It was his 24th double of the season and put the Farmers on top, 1-0.

Shmerkin told a Lancaster Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The Farmers move to 38-52 with the win, while the Love Boats drop to 51-39.
