Youth Drop Fighting Imps with Late Score

The Phoenix Hotspur Youth electrified Grenadiers Ballpark with a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth did just enough to sneak past the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 4-3, at Grenadiers Ballpark. Phoenix Hotspur pitcher Derek Jones earned player of the game honors. The Youth now own a record of 44-45.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 3-3, designated hitter Eugene McClellan won it for Phoenix Hotspur. With the bases loaded, McClellan hit a 2-1 cutter from Jeffery Brock for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 4-3 win.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Jones. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
