Lawrence hits 2 home runs, Whales Move to 62-26
|
A 3-RBI performance from third baseman Ron Lawrence, who is tied for 9th in the SAA in bases on balls with 51, led the Virginia Beach Whales to a 10-6 win over the Irving Blue Sox. The Whales have an impressive 62-26 record.
Virginia Beach used the bat of Keith Pick to get the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Whales ahead, 10-6. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I like winning," Lawrence told the Virginia Beach Bulletin. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
