Fighting Imps Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Biloxi
|
Ithaca catcher Manny López played a vital role in his team's 8-3 triumph over Biloxi. He went 2-3 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for Ithaca. Maximiano Mealha got credit for the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.1 innings. Ithaca now owns a record of 39-47.
Making an impact for the home team was Brant Fields. In the bottom of the fifth, the 25-year old shortstop had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Fighting Imps.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," López told the Ithaca Daily News.
