Virginia Beach Whales starter Pedro López was in fine form against the Olympia Ogres at The Ogre Den, leading his team to a 6-3 win. López went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-2. The Whales own a robust 60-25 mark.

Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Xavier Mercier to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Whales on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
