Cottongame Hits 2 home runs in Love Boats Win
|
It was a good time at Heron Field, where fans came to watch the Tacoma Fur Traders and Lake Minnetonka Love Boats get after it.
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats topped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 6-1, with youngster Braxton Cottongame playing a key role. Cottongame slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Love Boats in the win. Albert Pérez picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 8-4.
Cottongame had a key at-bat for Lake Minnetonka early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and gave Lake Minnetonka an early 3-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Cottongame.
Lake Minnetonka is now 48-37, while Tacoma is 44-41.
