The Lancaster Farmers picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Olympia Ogres, 10-2. On the mound for Lancaster was right-hander Carlos González, who played a pivotal role in the win. González, the winner, moves to 8-5. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The 9th-place Farmers now have a win-loss record of 34-50.
Takeshi Kovacs went 1-5 against the Ogres. In the bottom of the first inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run, putting Lancaster in front, 2-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," González told the Lancaster Herald.
