The Northville Eclipse did just enough to sneak past the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-3, at Old-Timers Park. Northville second baseman Curt Taylor earned player of the game honors. The win was Lawrence Swift's in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Kenny Hunt took the loss for Virginia Beach. Chang-hoon Park got the save, his 9th in 9 chances.
Taylor had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Eclipse went on to win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Northville manager Thomas Kemp.
The winning streak has now reached 8 games for the Eclipse.
