In a low-scoring clash between Irving and Olympia, pitcher Ramón Flores was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Irving in the 2-1 win. Napoleon Vitagliano converted his 16th save in 20 tries. The Blue Sox improve their record to 38-43 with the win over Olympia.

Irving used the timely hitting of António Escobeda to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Sox on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
