Roth Lifts Shuckers to 10-6 Win
|
Biloxi and Lancaster got after it at Farmers Field.
The Biloxi Shuckers beat the Lancaster Farmers, 10-6, at Farmers Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Ed Roth, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Roberto Cabrera got the win, improving to 7-3. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 6 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 5.
Roth had a key at-bat for Biloxi early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and gave Biloxi an early 3-0 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Roth said.
Biloxi goes to 35-45, Lancaster to 32-48.
