Irving starter Ralph Minor put a stranglehold on the Lake Minnetonka offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Blue Sox to a 6-1 win. Minor, now 5-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The win puts the Blue Sox at 35-39, while the Love Boats drop to 42-32.

In the bottom of the third, Irving first baseman Nikolai Volkoff had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Volkoff stroked a bases-clearing double to right-center. It made the score 4-0, Irving. For the game, he was 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Volkoff told the Irving News.
