Victory Pushes Youth Record to 36-35
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth topped the Olympia Ogres, 8-2, with left fielder Peer Kattenberg playing a big role. Kattenberg was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Youth in the win. Sean Neely earned the save, his 11th, for the Youth. The 5th-place Youth now have a win-loss record of 36-35.
The Ogres had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Youth going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Carel Oskamp came to the plate. Oskamp hit a 2-run single on a 2-1 curveball from Olympia hurler Luis Varela. It was Oskamp's 97th hit of the year.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Kattenberg told the Phoenix Hotspur Citizen. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
