Whales Come Up Short at Phoenix Hotspur
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth scored a 5-4 win versus the Virginia Beach Whales at Grenadiers Ballpark. Phoenix Hotspur pitcher José Correa nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The winning pitcher was Correa, now 5-4. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. With the victory, the Youth record now stands at 31-27.
Making an impact for the home team was Peer Kattenberg. In the bottom of the third, the 23-year old left fielder had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Youth.
"I liked his command," said Phoenix Hotspur manager Micheal Garren. "José was throwing strikes."
