The Biloxi Shuckers picked up a win at Virginia Beach Grounds, knocking off the Virginia Beach Whales, 7-3. Starting pitcher Denie Coppens, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Coppens got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Coppens allowed 3 earned runs. The Shuckers' win now puts them at 24-28.

In the top of the first, Seb Blanch pounced on a knuckle curve from Kenneth Ferrell and hit a 2-run single. It gave Biloxi a quick 2-0 lead.
