Polar Bears Beat Miners, 7-2
|
Billings catcher Shao Qigang had a 3-RBI game, which proved instrumental in his team beating the Marquette Miners, 7-2. Qigang picked up 2 singles and 1 double in the ballgame. The save was credited to Brandon Hughes, his 27th. With the victory, the Polar Bears record now stands at 51-45.
Qigang contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Billings in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Qigang took a fastball from Jin-guo Quan and stroked the double to left. His 12th double of the season allowed the Polar Bears to leap in front, 3-2.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Qigang told the Billings Daily.
