Miners Subdue Billings, 2-0
|
Marquette got an elite performance from starting pitcher Jeremy Parker in taking a 2-0 decision over the Billings Polar Bears. Freddy Martínez converted his 1st save in 3 tries. Even with the win, the Miners have a dismal 30-64 record.
The Miners got a big at-bat from first baseman Reginald Gibson. For the game, Gibson went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 8th double of the season gave Marquette a 1-0 lead.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Ronald Harmon. "That was the problem."
