Highlanders Prevail, 6-4, Over Richland
|
The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Richland Rails, 6-4, at Asheville Park. Asheville catcher Dan Olson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Asheville is 51-40 and Richland, with the loss, 41-50.
Early in the game, left fielder Luis Romero had a 3-run home run for Asheville. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Highlanders on top, 6-3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Romero told the Asheville Daily News.
