|
Wilbur Thomas did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Billings Polar Bears from losing, 6-3, to the Casper Ghosts at The Igloo. Thomas was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Ghosts raised their record to 39-52.
Casper used the timely hitting of Carlos Moreno to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Moreno called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
