Blimps Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
The Blimps had to overcome a fine effort from Bethesda pitcher Yeow-whye Gao to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Atoms Field. Gao went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Akron reliever Oakland Scanlan picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Jules Goux was saddled with the loss. Earning his 12th save of the year was Dewitt Clendaniel.

Ernest Franks had a nice at-bat for the Blimps with one out in the top of the tenth. With a runner on 1st, the right fielder drew a walk, which would prove important in the Akron win.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Bethesda manager Raúl Méndez said following the tough loss.

With the win, Akron has a record of 51-37. Bethesda falls to 52-36.
