The 2038 season is getting ugly for Marquette.
The Casper Ghosts defeated the Marquette Miners, 7-4, at Marquette Stadium today. Leading the charge for Casper was left fielder Carlos Moreno. He was 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times. Anthony Hurst picked up the save, his 17th.
Casper used the timely hitting of Hjalmar Bisseling to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ghosts on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Moreno.
The Ghosts saw their win-loss record go to 31-40. At the same time, the Miners fell to 23-48.
