The Durham Rapiers scored a 5-4 win versus the Casper Ghosts at The Graveyard. Durham pitcher António Fernández nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Fernández, the winner, moves to 4-7. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. The Ghosts, at 30-39, have lost 4 straight games.
Durham used the timely hitting of Takechi Yamashita to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rapiers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
