Richland rode a decent outing from starter Zuo-lin Liang to victory over the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. The final score was 5-4. The Rails now have a record of 31-34.

José Vargas went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Richland. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gunner Cross. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
