Highlanders Shut Out Rails
|
The Asheville Highlanders had no problem beating the Richland Rails, 12-0, at Asheville Park. Luis Romero led the way. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Asheville. The third-place Highlanders now have a 4-game winning streak.
With Asheville leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Romero hit a cutter from Cameron Thoresen for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Highlanders ahead, 4-0.
"We had that killer instinct," Romero said after the game.
