Rails Edge Past Highlanders, 3-2

The Richland Rails eked out a 3-2 win versus the Asheville Highlanders at Rails Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Bumper Pool, who captured player of the game honors. Richland reliever Weon Kim picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mario Sánchez took the loss. Jim Perry, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Hui-ying Sun aided the Richland cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4 with a triple.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Richland manager Greg Keys. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The 9th-place Rails raised their record to 20-28.
