Patriots Edge Past Voodoo, 5-4
|
The Boston Patriots did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the New Orleans Voodoo at Dunkin Donuts Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Elton Coalan, who captured player of the game honors. Boston reliever Kelemeneke Balun was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Rémi Ribeiro took the loss. Boston is now 36-40, New Orleans 38-38.
Boston took a 5-4 lead on Ryoichi Yoshida's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Yoshida hit in the bottom of the 17th, left New Orleans pitcher Rémi Ribeiro visibly frustrated.
"This place sure got loud," said Tyler Carter, the Boston manager.
