84s Lose to Rainbow Mermaids, 9-4
|
Benefiting from Tural Bishara's productive game, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids downed the Greenville 84s, 9-4. Bishara went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Rainbow Mermaids. Ratko Davidovic was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The Rainbow Mermaids, now 6-2, have been playing some good baseball.
The result might have been different for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Scott Dourque, the slick-fielding center fielder . Dourque stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put Northern Virginia up, 2-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Dourque. "And not try to do too much."
