The Durham Rapiers faced a tough opponent in Asheville pitcher Michael White, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Asheville Park by a final score of 4-3. White went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. The 11th-place Rapiers raised their record to 13-25.

Durham used the timely hitting of Bearooz Yacoobi to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Rapiers on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Yacoobi told a Durham Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
